Windows Vista RTM

      今天微软已经发布了 Vista 的 release to manufacturing (RTM) 版本.Windows 系统部门负责人 Jim Allchin 在当日的电话会议上表示,代码开发工作在不到1小时前刚刚结束,质量坚如磐石,我们在为产品的上市做准备.

      他透露,消费版Vista系统将在明年1月30日上市,将有五种语言的版本,实际上法语、西班牙语、日语版早在英语版之前就已经完工.微软公司已经计划在11月30日的新闻发布会上,正式推出 Windows Vista 和 Office 2007 的企业版.Vista 的发布也标志着自 XP 在2001年推出后,微软首次进行的系统大升级的完成.新系统带来了新的图形及用户界面,改进了桌面搜索并升级了媒体播放器及浏览器,同时在安全、易操作性和能耗管理上也有提高.

      现在随着代码开发工作的结束,电脑生产商们将进入系统的最后测试,并开始生产预安装新系统的电脑.微软也需要硬件厂商和其他软件公司帮助,共同完成驱动程序的开发,确保鼠标、键盘、摄像头和打印机等设备能与新系统一起平稳工作.奥尔臣透露,显卡生产商 Nvidia 将在当日晚些时候推出首款 DirectX 10 显卡产品.虽然新系统的开发已经完工,但在大多数企业都运行 Vista 还要很长时间.微软预计,在 Vista 发布一年后,大企业的电脑上运行这种系统的只占20%.根据 IDC 的数据,XP 系统在上市一年后只有10%左右的企业运行了这种系统.

      奥尔臣表示,Vista 代码开发完成后,企业将开始核心配置测试工作,确保应用软件与新系统的兼容,已经有一些客户正在迅速行动,其他一些也将购买新电脑以便升级.他认为,对于消费者来说,行动是快速和直接的,但企业需要进行测试,确保应用软件与新系统的完美结合.奥尔臣补充到,Vista 有更多的用于测试应用软件兼容性,及新系统其他方面的工具,减轻了企业升级的麻烦,微软也会向企业提供帮助,使安装更为简便.

      Vista Team 感谢了关注 Vista 的计算机爱好者和参与公测的人员, 并语气轻松的介绍了 RTM 版本的含义:RTM 版意味着开发工作已结束, RTM 版将提供给发行商、OEM 硬件厂商、驱动程序开发者、独立软件开发者等, 最终大约在2007年1月30日左右 Vista 将与 Office2007 一起通过零售渠道提供给顾客.

1、Windows Vista Starter

Aimed at select low-cost computers sold in emerging markets, Windows Vista Starter is the only Windows Vista product edition that is available only in 32-bit versions. It includes only the most basic Windows Vista features, including the Windows Basic user interface, the various Windows Vista security enhancements, and instant search.

2、Windows Vista Home Basic

Windows Vista Home Basic is a low-end mainstream Vista version aimed at users with only the most basic of needs. It includes Vista's enhanced security features, the Windows Vista Basic user interface, parental controls, instant search, manual file backup and restore, enhanced games, and improved networking functionality.

3、Windows Vista Home Basic N

Windows Vista Home Basic N is identical to Windows Vista Home Basic, except that it loses various Windows Media-based technologies, including Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Movie Maker. These shots also include examples of the rarely seen Windows Standard user interface.

4、Windows Vista Home Premium

The "premium" Vista product version aimed at consumers, Windows Vista Home Premium includes the Windows Aero user interface, Windows Media Center AV functionality, a full suite of digital media tools including Windows Media Player, Windows Photo Gallery, Windows Movie Maker HD, and Windows DVD Maker, as well as Tablet PC functionality and various new Vista mobility features.

5、Windows Vista Business

The new Windows version for businesses of all sizes, Windows Vista Business includes the Windows Aero UI, Tablet PC functionality, new mobility features like Mobility Center, business-oriented functionality such as Domain Join, Group Policy support, and Encrypting File System (EFS), and new small business features such as Fax and Scan and Small Business Resources.

6、Windows Vista Business N

Sold only in Europe, Windows Vista Business N is identical to Windows Vista Business, but for the removal of various Windows Media-related technologies, including Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Movie Maker. This product edition isn't particularly interesting per se, and is included only for completeness.

7、Windows Vista Ultimate

A superset of all other Windows Vista versions, Windows Vista Ultimate has it all: It combines the leading-edge digital media features from Vista Home Premium with the business and mobility-oriented features available in Vista Business.
