根据欧洲一家软件咨询公司统计，Vista 至少存在100处以上已报告错误代码，其中17％错误代码能够导致1000种以上运行问题。尽管在过去三个季度中微软不断试图改进 Vista 代码，并提供新补丁，错误代码的发现速度依然高于解决速度。
Windows Vista 并非系统不稳定的唯一责任者，报告中指出，第三方软件也负有不可推卸的责任。对于一台典型的安装好常用软件的系统来说，除操作系统外也存在100处以上严重代码问题，其中25％能够导致1000种以上运行错误。
